Subject: [ferrethealth] Arrhythmia and Lethargy
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello,

The other day I brought my boy Tank (roughly 3 years old) in to the vet. He's been getting progressively more sluggish over the past month or so. He wants to play, but tires quickly and is no where near as frisky as my other two. He's eating/drinking/pooping fine and weighs 3 pounds. We ran a CBC and chem panel on him, which showed a slightly elevated lymphocyte count. All other levels were normal. Also, when the vet listened to his heart, he heard a slight arrhythmia which was confirmed by a second vet in his practice. X-rays showed no sign of cardiomyopathy or other heart disease. I'm going to be bringing him back in for the day so they can monitor his heart and run more blood work every 2 hours. Tank has never has a serious problem before (no insuloma, adrenal disease, etc). Thus far, it seems to me that my vet isn't quite sure what's going on with him. What could his lab tests plus the arrhythmia possibly indicate? I've never had a ferret with an abnormal heart rhythm, so
I'm kind of at loss.
