For those who would like to donate to the IFC Medical Research Fund, funds are being collected for Dr. Matti Kiupel and Dr. Robert Wagner.

Checks will be presented to them at the June 3 - 5, 2011 Ferret Symposium in Phoenix where they will be presenting new ferret health findings and information about their research.

Visit the International Ferret Congress (IFC) web site for more event info:

Dr. Kiupel is a board certified veterinary pathologist with a special interest in ferret health. Your donation will help to support important ferret health advancements taking place at Michigan State University.

Diseases currently being studied by Dr. Kiupel and the MSU group include ferret coronaviruses (ECE and FIP like disease), intestinal diseases (rotavirus, coccidiosis, staphylococcosis), neoplastic diseases (adrenal cortical neoplasms) and inflammatory conditions (disseminated idiopathic myofascitis).

Dr. Wagner holds joint positions at the University of Pittsburgh as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Veterinary Medicine in the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources and as a Research Assistant Professor of Medicine in the School of Medicine's Department of Medicine. He is currently doing exciting research on ferret adrenal disease treatment and prevention.
