Thank you for the thoughts. He is not collapsing, as described, just choosing a place out in the open to fall asleep. I don't think he's had a situation where he feels like he's smothering. He's a pretty big boy and would be hard pressed to get smothered.

The sleep places aren't near food - in an open doorway, in the middle of my closet, on the top shelf of the cage, etc.

Someone emailed me directly and mentioned that perhaps Prednisilone twice per day is not quite right for this ferret, that he may need it more often. So, this morning I gave him soup with a little Pred as soon as I got up and again before leaving for work. This evening I gave it again as soon as I got home and again before putting him away for the evening. He was definitely more active and alert this evening. So, perhaps he needs Pred and soup spread out to keep from going into lows and highs with the insulinoma. Thanks again for your thoughts.
