Subject: [ferrethealth] noroviruses and ferrets?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I can NOT find any reputable source saying that ferrets
actually get noroviruses, only non-vets guessing, or even
non-vets guessing and then asserting, so I have sent
that question to a couple of expert veterinarians who
are pathology specialists for ferrets.

To be safest I am also asking here, and have checked
reliable resources like PubMed, of course, which do not
have any listings for noroviruses for ferrets, mustela,
mustelid or mustelidae.

We know that once a person is without symptoms some
noroviruses can still shed for a few weeks and recommended
precautions will be taken so he can't infect anyone. Ah,
the thrills and learning experiences that a sandwich shop
can unexpectedly bestow...
