Hopefully this is not an inappropriate post - because I want to make a shamless advertisement for the upcoming Ferret Symposium 2011.
One of the veterinary speakers at the Symposium is Dr. Matti Kiupel. He is speaking on several subjects, including Mycoplasmosis. He was the patholgist that did the work with the outbreak in the northwest part of the US, so he has some very recent experience with it. This is a great way for people to learn more about what Mycoplasmosis is, and how it affects a ferret's body.
And, because many vets are not aware that ferrets can be infected with Mycoplasmosis, it is also and excellent chance for veterinary professionals to learn about this problem. I would urge ferret owners to let their vets know about the Symposium. More information about the Symposium can be obtained on the IFC website - http://www.ferretcongress.org/
