I would give it food, put ad in newspaper, call ferret and all animal shelters. He might even need a visit to the vet.
also ask around your neighborhood if anyone is missing a ferret.
and if someone wants to claim him, ask them to describe the ferret.
It may be he is lost or could be abandoned and/or have some serious health issues.
