Ask your vet if you can use an antibiotic topical ointment, mixed with some metronidazole (flagyll). Ferrets hate the taste of flagyll, and so he will probably stop licking it. But, as the moderate said, it is very important to first ask your vet, in case there are any other health issues to consider.
