White sugar is an excellent natural inflammation reducer. I learned this years ago from my veterinarians. I've used it in the past when I had an abscess or was treating open wound mastitis. Soaking the area in a sea salt solution then putting ample sugar on it draws the infection out of the area and is somewhat of a natural antibiotic as well. Works wonders.
