I'm very sorry to hear about Telemna, nothing I can say will help the hurt when you lose one of these wonderful fuzzies.
Â
I have to disagree that too much Ferretone can cause Vitamin A toxicity and one of the signs is diarrhea. The last poster did not say that ferrets were prone to Vitamin A toxicity he/she said that too much ferretone can cause Vitamin A toxicity which as I understand it is correct.

[The diarrhea from too much Ferretone likley
is from too much oil for the small intestine
to digest well enough.
If you read the piece on Vitamin A and
Canine Distemper (a link in the post)
you will notice that it might even be that
many ferrets are not getting enough
Vitamin A and you will see how high the
dose is, meaning that you can compare
it to what is in Ferretone.
I recall when the cautions about Ferretone
first began and some began cutting it with
olive oil. That was a long time ago, perhaps
a couple of decades or so, and was based
upon non-vets generalizing from human
health to ferret health, which does not seem
to be a good thing to do in relation to either
Vitamin A or Vitamin D, for different reasons.
(Link to some on both in the previous post.)
