Subject: [ferrethealth] Sugar
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
The funny thing about this is that I actually learned about its ability to
draw fluid out of the body many, many years ago when I read the James
Herriot books. He used it on a prolapsed uterus in a sow, if I recall
correctly.
If you think about it, though, it makes sense...we use sugar on strawberries
to draw out the liquid when making something like strawberry shortcake.
I've used Preparation-H once or twice on Pixie, who had a prolapsed rectum
when she was a kit; never thought to use the sugar. One big advantage I see
is that we all usually have sugar on hand, and the shelf life isn't a
problem - unlike a cream like P-H that will expire once opened. Kinda
pricey for only a 1-2x use! :)
