Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: My ferrets lack of energy

We had a ferret who had up to (but no more than) a quarter teaspoon of it each night for over 5 years with meds and later another who had about the same amount each night for around 7 years. Neither had any trouble from it and both times vets and a veterinary nutritionist okay it. The first lived to be over 8 and half years old, and the second (who also almost died in his first year with congenital problems that caused kidney damage) lived to be about 8 years old. Both were athletic, smart, loving, and happy.
So, ask your vet: that is pretty much always the moral of the story. Vets are great and sure earn what they make in my mind.
