Subject: [ferrethealth] vaccinations question?

Will it harm my ferret if I give it a canine 7/1. In our town the vets don't offer just a plan distemper shot. Plus, we are fixin to introduce a new ferret into our home. Our ferret, Willa, is almost 3 yrs old and has never been with another one. What kind of advice can you give me. I have been reading the web page on everythingboutferrets and getting information from there but, I would like to hear from you guys.

[If your local vets won't even get in the right
vaccines how do you expect them to handle the
common health problems of ferrets which
require even more specialized meds or surgery?
Try letting them know which vaccines are used
for ferrets and providing them with references
like a second hand edition of a reasonably recent
ferret veterinary text if they are willing to learn
because often someone is very willing to learn,
OR
use ferret vet lists to find someone to whom you
can travel who will be able to treat ferrets.
