Subject: [ferrethealth] wound care for Teeka, ferret on Vincristine
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

We have been flushing Teeka's wound 2X daily with solution: purified water, poloxamer 188, potassium phosphate, phenoxyethanol, sodium chloride, methylparaben, sodium hydroxide, ethylparaben,, propylparaben, butylparaben, isobutylparaben. She is fighting infection, due to the chemo, and I am wondering if a more effective solution might be helpful. I have Hibiclens, Chlorhexidine gluconate solution 4.0% w/v
isopropyl alcohol 4%w/v, purified water, Red40 + other ingredients in nonalkaline base. I hesitate to use the Hibiclens unless it could help. If not, any other wound flushing suggestions?
Thankyou, Brenda

[What is the wound itself from (surgery?), where is the wound,
and is the vet treating the wound? Is what you are using what
the vet suggested using?
