Just an update. I printed up all the links that you kindly forwarded to me and took them to my vets this afternoon. After more research by them they are now tending more towards DIM or a variation of it. Our path guy in Perth had suggested FIP, but the symptoms do not seem to mesh with my ferret. I will be collecting a couple of drugs being made by a compounding chemist tomorrow.(will let you know what they are) I will keep you up dated as to the outcome of these drugs or any other symptoms.

Once again thank you all for the information as it has given all of us another avenue to explore. Hopefully it may have a kind outcome.

[Quick Note on one of the option:

What ferrets get looks and behaves like FIP,
but is actually a mutation of ECE -- the work
has been done and I can include links to those,
too, but you can find them easily enough at
the Michigan State Ferret Health Advancement
site or at PubMed. So, while some say "FIP"
as a short--but it is actually FIP-like Systemic
ECE that they get. There is a great discussion
about that in the separate FHL Archives.
