Subject: [ferrethealth] GI bleed - need help
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Okay, I have a young ferret.. Maybe about 8 months old, female.  We do have a
vet appt. first thing in the morning, but wanted to check here too for possible
reasons for this.. Daisy has started pooping mucousy blood.. It does not look
like it is coming from the stomach as it is very red.. Sometimes green mucousy,
but mostly red mucousy.  She is not playing as much as she normally does.. She
is normally VERY energetic and my most rambunctious ferret.  She is one of those
fuzzies who gets into EVERYTHING.  I don't have toddlers or anyone in the house
who handles the ferrets roughly.  All my cabinets are locked with child-proof
locks.  The only thing it could be is something she ate that is tearing her
intestinal lining.. But do these symtpoms match up with that?  And can an x-ray
or ultrasound reveal this?

Also, I know it is not a crayon, jello, etc.  It is definitely blood.

Thanks,
Misty
