Subject: [ferrethealth] Arthritis and possible heart issue
To: FHL posting <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

Re arthritis in ferrets.. in reference to my 7 yr 10 mo old Pixie. I wonder with her slowness, hind leg and ascending weakness if this is also an arthritis symptom? Her BG is normal (on prednisonone), but her toes are badly curved now (only in past year). Our vet said it looked like arthritis. She also seems to have an issue with her right rear leg. She tends to straighten it out a lot of the time when she's eating her soup or drinking water, etc.

Also, in reference to cardiomyopathy and tressie's list for worsening symptoms... Pixie has not been dx with cardiomyopathy but has 3 of the four symptoms. She doesn't have a cough. She does pant at times, has belly bloating (only belly that I can tell), and while her BG is normal (due to prednisolone?) she still has worsening hind leg and ascending weakness.

So I'm taking it she would need an ultrasound to check for cardiomyopathy?

Ella
