My vets use 100 mcg monthly Lupron Depot for small females, males are started at 200 mcg (minimum) monthly Lupron Depot.

My vets prefer the monthly to the 3 or 4 month Lupron Depot because it is easier to medically manage the disease. For example, I had a ferret who required Lupron Depot every 2 weeks until he had adrenal surgery to prevent blocking. He was also relatively young to have adrenal disease, just 2 years-old. Then a year after adrenal surgery he started showing symptoms again and by then we had the Deslorelin available and he received a Deslorelin implant. Fifteen months later he received a second Deslorelin implant.

We no longer use Lupron Depot unless a male has blocked and its an emergency - otherwise my current vet's preferred route to medically manage adrenal disease is Deslorelin implants.
