There is a "bio sponge" intestinal absorbent made for cats and dogs that comes in a tube that may be similar to the "horse paste" that Caitlyn mentions. It comes in a 15-cc tube and is called "Platinum Performance Bio-Sponge". The ingredient in it is Di-Tri-Octahedral Smectite. That and filtered water. It is a paste that is supposed to absorb toxins from the intestines and improve intestinal and digestive health.
From what I read, it does work well for dogs and cats. Unfortunately, I can't tell you if it works for ferrets, as I couldn't get my boy to take it. No way, no how, and when I mixed it in his soup, which he loved even more than he loved me, he wouldn't eat the soup. So, I still have a mostly unused tube. But my research on it led me to believe it could and probably would work for ferrets. But I would certainly ask a vet about it before using.

[The last part of Jeff's message is perhaps the most important. Don't try anything which is "off label" for ferrets without first consulting a knowledgeable ferret vet --Moderator (CMM)]
