Subject: [ferrethealth] My ferret is sick and I dont know what to do...
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

have u tried just given him plain cat old hairball remover in a tube  from walmart , by hartz . i give it to mine once a month to ensure no hairballs i also give mine  if losing weight heavy cream to help gain weight 1 tsp daily which will make poo runny also , i dont have any sick , and i dont take mine to a vet unless last needs. i have a vet tech aunt. im also no vet just a pet owner and lover only. im so sorry ur baby is sick , and i would suggest poo would be runnier due to baby food . ferrets do sleep alot anyway .

[Ferrets in general do not tolerate dairy products well, that is, it gives them diarreah. Although I have seen heavy cream recommended before, I would be extremely cautious about giving a sick ferret any sort of dairy products. Whereas chicken baby food does not cause runny stools and has been recommended by veterinarians in the past who post here. - Moderator (TD)]
