You know now that heâs prone to blockages, so itâs very possible that another one has occurred. It could be the same thing that caused the initial blockage, or something different. Hair wads are common, especially during shedding season, as is a ferret ingesting part of some bedding, part of a toy, or almost anything else that it may find on the floor, under sofa cushions, etc. I have used plain pumpkin and 3 days of ferret lax to get rid of blockages in the past, and fortunately, have so far never needed surgery to remove any. During shedding time I actually use some ferret lax as a preventative, and often times see smaller hair wads come out in the stools. Those smaller wads can build up to big wads in many ferrets, and those big wads cause problems.
