To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi,
I have a 7 year old Marshall girl Darla who has had slow heart 80m-100
since end of February. She saw our vet and was started on Terbutaline march
3,it had no effect, we saw cardiologist March 18, were told to double the
dose of Terbutaline, no effect, actually seemed worse was coughing, then she
was started on Lasix and Vetmedin she has been taking 1/4 tab every 12
hours. Her heart is still around 100-120 and she still has no energy, only eats,
walks a few steps, plops down, gets up and goes to sleep again. I had asked
the vet about isuprel after reading a cardiology article Tressie the
moderator sent me, thanks!. The cardiologist has never used this in a ferret and
seemed to think it had to be given continuous infusion ,I think she said.
I know I will get the response see another cardiologist, but I would just
like to know what drugs have helped anyone and maybe the cardiologist we saw
would be willing to try something,
Thank you, Debbie
