ADV is a parvo virus although not canine in nature.

Years ago befor the ferret show system really took off, many used the Galaxy combination for Canine Distemper & Parvo. There really wasn't ADV back then in ferrets when this combination vaccine was used. It only really surfaced when the show organizations decided that the combination vaccine was not going to be permissable if used on ferrets who were going to be shown. Something to think about.

As I stated before, people will use what they trust and has been proven to work in "field" testing despite whether or not it is FDA aproved for ferrets and is used off list.

The additional antigen in those two vaccines is to parvo which ferrets do not get.

When vaccines are changed they sometimes don't work for a species
even for what you want them to prevent.
