Kevin,

The information that you are sharing is extremely important! Not only to other ferret shelters/rescues and owners, but also to the professional veterinary community.

I know it can be discouraging when misinformation starts floating around - all the more important that the record is set straight, as you have adequately done.

I am surprized that no one picked up on the treatment and made comment! I had heard that there was a radical new treatment for distemper but it was being poo-poohed because the belief is that ferrets simply do not survive canine distemper. I have come across the odd, rare report that states a micro percentage do survive for unknown reasons.

BUT that was not your case. You had ferrets who were treated and not only survived but recovered. This is astounding news! I am assuming the treating vets and the consulting vet in Texas will be publishing something about this??
