Anesthesia can be done w/o harm on older
ferrets BUT please ask the vet to have those
ferrets in / on oxygen 10 mins prior to
anesthesia and another 10 mins after. This will
allow the system to clear better and will promote a much better recovery.

Also be aware that steroids do inhibit immune
system response and prednisolone IS a steroid.

It may be advisable after dental work on these
ferrets to run a course of antibiotics
afterwards. Bacteria can easily get into the
blood system during oral work. Please mention
these points to your vet, it may help your older kids in their recovery.
