Our vets have been incredibly happy with the results that regularly (about every half week to week) giving ferrets Foamy Fries attains. They are made of protein gel and we have not had to have a ferret have a professional dental cleaning in many years (yes, many years). In fact, the last one who needed a scraping was one with some genetic problems and just seemed to be genetically prone to more dental problems just like some people are despite Foamy Fries. The others at the same time did not have any dental problems or gum problems.
Ferrets seem to love the texture. We usually cut them in half or thirds since a full size can cause diarrhea but a smaller size seems to work out fine though they can get a little bit loose. Smaller that a third will not let them gnaw.
This reminds me; it is time for us to reorder them. Multiple online ferret product suppliers carry them.
