I would not use any Lupron formulation except the 1 month depot. I've seen
studies which measured the effective hormone levels, and the "4 month" depot
loses effectiveness after 2.5 - 3 months. One of the reasons that the
Deslorelin implant is so effective is that it gives a constant level of the
medication over its lifetime. If you're using Lupron, you want the same
thing.



We use 100 - 200mcg monthly, and have had very good results over the past
10+ years. Yes, there are some ferrets that won't respond at all to Lupron,
as the disease has progressed past the time when the pituitary will respond
to that class of drug. In those cases, Deslorelin may or may not have any
more effect.
