Hi Jeff and everyone,  When my boy Shane was having bad diarrhea, at one point I had him at the emergency vets (he was really lethargic).  The emergency vet gave me a prescription for Chloramphenicol.  I researched it and its use in ferrets, and also asked my regular vet about it before fill the script..  I read alot of warnings about the stuff, and I don't believe it is used regularly in ferrets.  Which led me to double checking with Shane's reg vet, she also advised not filling the scrip.  Just be cautious with this stuff.

As a follow up, Dozer was at the vet today and will now go on Chloramphenicol for 10 days.  It's not something I've used before but she said she has found it particularly good for digestive tract problems.
