Subject: [ferrethealth] How soon
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

How soon can you administer a des implant after administering lupron?
I've got a 7 or 8 yr old RC male ferret who had been implanted with a des implant in mid-January. He started having some break through symptoms about the beginning of July (he was due an implant the beginning of July and it was ordered but was on backorder), About 2 weeks ago he started a serious slide. Lethargy, lack of appetite, difficulty urinating. It was decided to resort to a double 200mg lupron as he has not responded well to 100mg lupron before but as there was no sign of the des showing up in the near future we decided to try this. It did relieve the pressure on his bladder but little else. His des implant is scheduled to arrive on Tues. How soon can he have it? or do we have to wait at all? Any information about this would be appreciated. Thank you
ciao
Heather
