I'd put the Deslorelin implant in right away. Even a 200 mcg Lupron shot is still a pretty low dose. I START my ferrets at 500 mcg, and have gone as high as 1.0 mg. Of course, that's only when the Deslorelin implants are not available.
You also have to keep in mind that the Deslorelin can take a few weeks to really kick in, and if your boy has advanced adrenal disease, as it sounds, you don't want to take any chances of symptoms coming back, especially when it involves his prostate.
