Thank you (to the moderator). I completely understand concerns about the seriousness of tweaking around w/ pred and you make a very good point. Yes, though, I did check w/ the vet re stopping pred. We weren't actually "stopping" it, but rather just holding off for a few hours until she could get a look at the messed up stool samples today and decide whether to continue w/ pred, open her up for exploratory and (possibly) remove the insulinomas in order to avoid using prednisone at all (except to taper w/ possibly larger doses of GI meds and antibiotics.
I'm glad this was mentioned, though, because yes, suddenly stopping (especially high) pred doses can cause serious problems, and I wouldn't want anyone to read my post and think they should stop dosing because their fert is having symptoms. Thank you for addressing that issue.
