Plain Pepcid AC tablets (or their generic equivalent) are safe, with the only active ingredient being famotidine. Similar to what the moderator said in her response to your post, I use 1/8 of a tablet, but since they are fairly small to begin with, and therefore very difficult to cut, I dissolve one tablet (10-mg) in 4.0 ml of water and give 0.5 ml per dose. Store the dissolved tablet in the refrigerator and be sure to stir it before measuring with a syringe, as much of the dissolved tablet settles at the bottom.
