Subject: [ferrethealth] Tylan Dosage Clarified
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My apologies to the group -- I obviously omitted the most important part of my earlier message about my experience with giving Tylan to my ferret with chronic intestinal problems:   the dosage. ( Naturally, I figured anyone giving a prescription drug to their ferret would be doing so under a vet's guidance...)

Any-ho....

When Baby has a flare-up, I give her the tip of a dropperful (approx .10 cc) of liquid Tylan twice a day for 7 days. The strength is 160 mg/ml.

It has been a successful treatment for us. Besides the fact that she cannot stand the taste and gets really mad at me for giving it to her, we've had no issues with side-effects.

Hope that makes more sense.

Dooks ~n~ Dances,
Susan Baker
