Subject: [ferrethealth] thoughts on pee marking in adrenal male?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi all,
Looking to see if anyone else has had a male ferret (2.5 YO, adrenal, insulinomic) that drags himself over objects while peeing on them and pees in little puddles and trails all of the house. Prostate is fine and he has no problems ALSO doing his normal pees in the box and on the potty pads (actually backs up) and comes for his treats when he does those.

We treated for UTI just in case and important to note that the behavior stoped for 5 months, just 5 days after a deslorelin implant. Upon return of the pee-marking we gave a second deslorelin at 6 months which had no effect on this behavior.

I'm thinking to add a melatonin implant and see if that helps, but thought I would see if anyone else has had a similar problem and see how they handled it besides permanently carrying around a spray bottle and paper towels which is what I am doing now!
Thanks!
-Katie
