Thank you all for the great responses :)
I am going to call my vet on monday and talk with her about what she thinks about surgery for him. She has done the surgeries before, and says they have all been successful, but she told me before to keep in mind that it is still not a cure and the tumors do grow back. I am also concerned that with surgery, and how fragile they are that something will go wrong... ect.
I'm also concerned that the pred is causing Fisher to gain too much weight and lose the muscle mass (which was already compromised from the adrenal disease), as he is having a bit of a hard time with his hind legs. He tires very easily, and I think he's having a hard time keeping his chubby belly up. :-/ The past 2 days though he has been walking a lot better, so maybe the diazoxide is finally starting to help my little boy? I've also been getting him to dig in their box of corn starch packing peanuts and he is loving that.
Ooh, is the .35ml of the diazoxide a correct dose for his body weight (3.5lbs)? And can his pred be increased at all any more? He is taking .30mls/2x day. The vet says his pred is the max dose he can get because of how it's been compounded.
Thank you!
Melissa
