Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Can mycoplasma pulmonis trasnfer from mice to ferrets?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Thank you very much for your answer and the links.

I did already search through the health list archives, and read about other types of mychoplasma, but I found nothing about this particular kind in relation to ferrets.

The reason why I asking, is that I found an article written by a vet and mice breeder about mycoplasma pulmonis, where he stated that almost all mice has the bacteria, and that they only get symptoms when stressed. If this holds true, and a ferret can get it, there will be a risk of the ferret getting infected every time it is fed a mouse.

As it is hard to find anything about this, I thought that someone inhere could know it. I am pretty sure my own vet wouldnt know, but I can of course ask and also they might be able to say if my mice has the bacteria at all.
