Most vets I've discussed this with would say that early spaying is a
factor but it certainly isn't the only factor. The idea that spaying
at any time automatically causes adrenal disease is one I would
disagree with sharply. That simply isn't a one to one correlation. I
have an eight to eight and a half year old female, a Marshall Farms
ferret who was spayed early. Zephyr never has had adrenal disease.
I've had others who never developed the disease as well.
