To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

1 question is why did you get your newest ferret X rayed when getting a check up recently?

Ferrets are such highly sensitive critters and I hope others who don't know this fact don't rush into replacing a companion. Older ferrets just cannot handle youngsters in my experience.

Hope things inprove or that you can adopt out the newest ferret.

[There are always exceptions. My, then 6 year-old ferret who had lost her companion, welcomed and nutured a 3 month-old male kit who was feeling distressed with the new environment. This same ferret, now 7 1/2 years old, recently welcomed a 1 year-old female rescue, who was also feeling disoriented and distressed. This youngster was recently adopted out. And the same precious 7 1/2 year old Sadie just accepted a 5 year-old female ferret whose companion died recently. Each time the newcomers snuggled with the maternal Sadie in her hammock almost immediately. - Moderator (TD)]
