Oh, one other thing: a general coronavirus test could be done and many labs can do those. It will not tell you if there is ECE but if the right one is done, BUT it will tell if a coronavirus has been present and for ferrets that narrows the possibilities down pretty far since we'd all have heard if you have a SARS outbreak thereĀ… There is some info on this in the FHL Archives:
