Many vets do not know ferrets, so they and the ferret families brought to their practices can be helped by sharing resources such as the two pathology and blood work ones for vets at Dr. William's site.

It has always been important for ferret people to learn about ferret health which is a need that the FHL and the excellent and easily used FHL Archives provided by Pam and Eric Sessoms can help fill. Heck, I stopped being a moderator months ago for family needs and made sure to remain here as a member because there is always so much to learn on the FHL.

The FHL and the FHL Archives are the first two URLs in my sig lines but there are other links there to also help in teaching and learning.

There is also a new accreditation by the AVMA for exotics vets who fit certain criteria and as more vets pursue that it will help people find vets who are ferret-knowledgeable. People can also use resources like the FHL's list of vets which is among the resources in the Files section of the FHL (and check out other resources in the Files section as well as looking at other FHL sections while you are exploring the FHL website because they will also help all), and v et searches can also be helped by other lists of ferret vets such as those which can be found in Support Our Shelters which lists the vets used by area shelters in the shelter section, and Ferret Universe, though there are more.
