Prostate problems are not something to wait on. If he blocks, he has maybe 6-8 hours before his bladder could rupture, causing death. While you consider all aspects of surgery, you should really treat the immediate problem right away. I agree with the moderator, that a Lupron Depot shot is probably the best thing to do right now, and you should also talk to the vet about either Propecia or flutamide or similar prostate meds in addition to the Lupron, as that can take a week or two to really kick in sometimes. If his adrenal disease is at the point where the prostate is becoming enlarged and affecting his urination, then a fairly strong dosage of the Lupron is probably needed. If it's a 1-month shot, then consider at least 200 mcg (micrograms). If a 4-month shot, then closer to 1.0 mg (= 1000 mcg).
