Hind leg weakness can be from Her blood glucose needs to be at safe levels and her meds frequent enough and at the right doses.

In thirty years with ferrets I have never heard of that sort of skin problem in ferrets from pred. While I am not saying that unusual things can not happen I do think that you should look up other causes of skin problems in ferrets in the separate FHL Archives which you can link to from the FHL homepage. People here can tell you about quite a range of things that cause skin problems: cutaneous lymphoma, pemphigus, allergies, parasites, canine distemper, etc. and what to do. Some of them are helped by pred.

Nor have I ever heard of diazoxide causing stomach problems for ferrets. We have found that med does not help all ferrets but for those it helps it is often a great help. You have to control the insulinoma one way or another.

If there is any problem w the liver not working as well as it should Prednisolone is going to work better than Prednisone. There is info on that, too, in the archives.
