Just to second the motion...My ferret Reno only lived 76 days after surgical
biopsy and diagnosis of intestinal lymphoma. She had awful - liquid, runny,
green-slimy, seedy - you name the poo - she had it and we tried everything
with her pred - she spent several days in ICU post op because of dehyrdating
diarrhea. I used biaxin with amoxi along and carafate to coat her tummy
before she ate soup and it worked wonders for helping - 14 days and then in
a few weeks it was back so we tried vetasyl 3 days a week and then
pet-pectalin another week - The vet had me add Kudzu root powder to her soup
(I don't think that helped at all but I threw it in as the *vet recommended
it.)
Every week at some point she had diarrhea so bad I was checking for
dehydration and would sometimes have to give sub-q fluids - was also giving
her Oral Rebound in her soup. It was very apparent her intestines were
taxed from the cancer but bless her heart, she continued to gain weight on
that transdermal pred this *way ahead of her time* vet had prescribed. She
got the transdermal because I suspected that the liquid prednisolone was the
cause of the stomach upset and diarrhea. Obviously it was not much if any
contributing factor.
