That's exactly what I was going to say. While there may be some remote chance that the implants did contribute to their death, it's far more likely that the ferrets were just so advanced in their adrenal disease that nothing was going to stop the inevitable. I had one boy who had a 2.5 cm tumor on his right adrenal gland that was inoperable. I got him a second Deslorelin implant anyway, just to try to improve/lengthen his quality of life for as long as possible. I still had to put him to sleep 2 months later, as nothing was going to stop that tumor, which was most likely a carcinoma. The ferrets you tried to help probably were in a similar situation, and may have had other contributing illnesses as well.
