Yes, if this was the deslorelin IMPLANT, Suprelorin which Peptech makes and also licenses to a European firm whose name escapes me right now, then any negative effect from the temporary hormonal increase would be gone in days and after that it would begin treating but if the disease was very advanced then almost nothing would touch it and they would have done better using the implants on ferrets who have early adrenal disease.
Now, it IS important to know to NOT use the non-implant deslorelin. That will worsen things without a later improvement because it does not release over time.
It is in the same class of drugs as Lupron, so using the short acting deslorelin instead can have the same sorts of negative effects as using the 24 Lupron can have:

So, if there were Suprelorin implants, which is what people typically mean when they discuss deslorelin here just as they typically mean Lupron DEPOT when they discuss Lupron, then you can stop kicking yourself.
Ferrets with very advanced adrenal disease bruise more easily due to thinned and fragile skin, and if their marrow fails (which is not from the correct treatment but from high estrogen levels due to the adrenal disease) then the internal bleeding, anemia, extreme bruising, etc. can happen.
