For his burns: try using raw honey. It is a natual antiseptic and promotes quick healing.

Some friends of mine got a burned ferret into their shelter and tried many things before finding a vet in Colorado that told them to try the raw honey method. It worked.

I have since used it on a dog with an open wound and know that it works for that, too.

If you google raw honey vs. antibiotics you will find research that proves raw honey heals faster than the antibiotics.

[I would also add that sugary drinks, including ginger ale, are not good for ferrets. You can use off the shelf ferret treats that are sweet but have chicken as the main ingredient. Bits of cooked meat may also be a good treat, particularly with just a tiny bit of salt. --Moderator (CMM)]
