Thanks Doc, Today at a vet in New Mexico, we tested my meter with the same
blood he drew for the in-house test. He also sent off to Antech for blood
profile on one ferret so we'll know tomorrow what that result is but we
expect it will be 10-20 points lower at least than the in-house test. Here
are the results and I will be using this as a gauge for future home
testing...knowing that even using the FreeStyle Lite I must get an "ample"
blood drop to get an accurate reading:

Ferret 1 Female sable (fasting 5 hours)
Ferret 2 Male sable (fasting 5 hours)
Freestyle: 67
Freestyle: 89
In-house: 100
In House: 122
2 weeks ago with Antech: 34 (I'd been getting 40's on FSL)
For the past two weeks on Freestyle I've only gotten
(She's been on Proglycem 10mg/kg per day since 8/19)
results in the 60's but I know now I've got to get an ample
so we are pleased with the results
blood droplet

Mr. Vet told me not to worry about any readings unless I get at least 2
below 50 or the ferret shows any outward symptoms of hypoglycemic episodes.
Ferret #1 has improved vastly in the past week and as soon as she
stabilizes with meds and diet, we'll be looking at partial pancreatomy for
her.
