To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I had a 5 year old ferret named Pippi who started having hind end weakness like you describe. It slowly got worse where she was unable to make it across the room without plopping down and taking a short break.
I took her to several vets and all said she had an extremely large spleen. It was not until I got an ultrasound done on her that it was ruled to be most likely lymphoma.
The vet saw several nodes in different spots, I don't remember exactly where.
So she started chemotherapy and even had to get a blood transfusion from her little brother at one point. It was a very difficult time for her and for me. After about 2 weeks on chemo she became unresponsive and had to be put to sleep.

I don't mean to alarm you, Hopefully this is not the case with little "Brotherbear".
But you should definitely consider getting an ultrasound so your vet can better see what's going on internally.

Best of luck
Ivanna
