Prednisone and prednisolone can be very hard on the tummy, so I would always
give them in combination with Pepcid or another agent to sooth the GI tract.
If not, that alone could be causing loss of appetite.

It is also very common for long-term pred use to result in a swollen,
bloated looking belly. We refer to it as "Pred Belly". is it possible that
a vet without a great deal of ferret experience has mistaken that for
lymphoma?

I have to agree with Sukie. 80ml is not a realistic dose for ferrets. Even
8 ml would be extremely high if it is the normal concentrations. If you can
get us that info when you get home, that will help us understand what's
going on.

Depending on what other med is being given, you may need to time it with
respect to meals and other meds to avoid interactions. Some coating meds
prevent the absorption of other medication and possibly food.

How are the insulinoma symptoms? Are they well controlled?

Please keep us posted
