Subject: [ferrethealth] Update on BrotherBear's Hind End Weakness
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Brother Bear had an ultrasound around 10:30am this morning.
They found:
Enlarged peripheral lymph nodes
3 nodules: (a small one located adjacent to the liver, a small one on the pancreas and one on his spleen)
Enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes
A small amount of abdominal free fluid
And a large mass in his stomach.
They also said he was obese :(
His average weight is between 41/2 to 5 pounds and at one time I thought this could be causing his problems, but do not feel that way now (even before these procedures).
With this news I certainly became MORE worried :(
They then went in via ultrasound guided fine needle and were going to do aspirates. The nodule adjacent to the liver was too deep to get to and they did not want to disturd the one on his pancreas. The results from the one on his spleen were NON cancerous!! The mass in his stomach was determined to likely be lymph nodes and the abdominal fluid seemed to be a result of infammation.
So, other than the two nodules they did not test, I feel BrotherBear still has gotten a clean bill of health. I realize that one or both of those nodules could be and must be causing the problem. And maybe not. Any suggestions from here??
Still considering removal of spleen.
And now part of pancreas too? Is that safe??
Definitely some pain medication!
Looking forward to your posts,
Jovonna
