To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

It sounds like an osteoma, which is a benign bone tumor. I recall a couple of years ago someone here posted about her ferret having one on his skull. I believe the full story was posted on the FML as well, but there should be reference to it in the FHL archives. She made a helmet for him after the surgical removal, unfortunately, he didn't live long after. I think the ferret's name was Fatty.

There is a paper published in 2002 - RADIOGRAPHIC AND CT IMAGING OF A SKULL ASSOCIATED OSTEOMA IN A FERRET
RYANS . DE VOE, DVM, LEEANNP ACKD, VM, CHERYBL. GREENACRDEV,M
Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound, Vol. 43, No. 4, 2002, pp 346-348.

Unfortunately, no associated abstract. However, the authors briefly discuss osteomas. If you would like me to send it to you, email me privately.
